Tenmaku Cinema, written by Yuto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki, has come to an end with chapter 21 in issue #41 of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine which released on Sep 11, 2023.
The manga will, however, be getting a bonus chapter, which will be published in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform in November this year.
Some fans were clearly surprised by the ending of the manga claiming that it was axed. However, there were others who felt that the story had gotten a perfect ending, matching with its themes.
The third and final volume of the manga will be releasing on Nov 2, 2023.
Tsukuda and Saeki are well known for their previous work, Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma which serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2019.
The duo started publishing Tenmaku Cinema in April 2023. The first volume of the manga was released in August 2023. The authors are set to publish a new one shot in the upcoming issue of Jump Giga.
The plot of Tenmaku Cinema is described by Manga Plus as follows:
Extreme movie-lover Hajime Shinichi and the ghost of the mysterious genius screenwriter Takihiko Tenmaku—their meeting will provide some serious plot twists! It’s ready, set, action for this coming-of-age series!
