Promo Video of VRMMO Life Anime “A Certain Dude’s Playthrough” Unveils Theme Songs and October 2 Release Date

Saji‘s “Magic Writer” will serve as the opening theme song for Miho Okasaki‘s “Kibō no Recipe” which will be the ending theme song for the television anime of author Howahowa Shiina and illustrator Yamaada‘s Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudōki (A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life) light novel series.

The anime’s official website began streaming the main promotional video on Tuesday. The video features a preview of the opening theme song “Magic Writer” by Saji and the ending theme song “Kibō no Recipe” (Recipe of Hope) by Miho Okasaki. The website also announced that the anime will premiere on October 2.

The anime is set to premiere in Japan on October 2 via the TOKYO MX and BS11 channels. It will also be available for streaming on the d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai platforms starting October 2. Additionally, it will premiere on the AT-X channel on October 3.

The anime’s cast includes:

Yuichi Nakazawa is directing the anime at Maho Film. Touko Machida is overseeing the series scripts, and Yūko Watabe and Yūko Ōba are the main character designers. The music will be composed by TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND.

The novels’ manga adaptation is being released in English by AlphaPolis‘ Alpha Manga service. The story follows a middle-aged man who enjoys playing a VRMMO called “One More Free Life Online” with a young boy avatar named “Earth.” He embarks on various adventures within the game, showcasing his unique skills and playing style.
