Discotek Media recently made some exciting announcements during a live stream. They have acquired several new licenses and will be releasing new content in the future. One of the highlights is that Lovely Complex, an anime series, has been newly dubbed in English by Sound Cadence. The English dub will include clean opening and ending sequences, bloopers, and two episode commentaries. This will be the first time Lovely Complex is released on Blu-ray Disc worldwide, featuring an AstroRes upscale, all 24 episodes, Japanese audio with English subtitles, and an all-new English dub.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, another anime series, will also be released on Blu-ray Disc in 2024. It will feature the same 1080p upscale release as in Japan, original Japanese audio, the Bang Zoom! English dub, and improved English subtitles.
Hand Maid May, a 10-episode anime series with an OVA, will also be released on Blu-ray Disc in 2024. The release will include a new upscale, the Pioneer English dub, cleaned up subtitles, clean opening and ending sequences, promos, and some interesting early DVD extras.
Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure, a 13-episode TV show with an OVA, will release on standard definition Blu-ray Disc in 2024. It will include the Japanese audio, the Pioneer English dub, improved subtitles, clean opening and ending sequences, promo videos, character messages, a Japanese “ADR report” short, and easter eggs from the original Pioneer DVD release.
Lupin the 3rd: Sweet Lost Night, a Lupin III special, will be released on Blu-ray Disc in 2024 in Japanese with English subtitles. It will also include TV commercials for the special and liner notes. Belladonna of Sadness, a classic anime film, will receive a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc release in 2024. It will feature a new HDR grade, a 1080p SDR version, a commentary track by Mike Toole, newly proofed subtitles, and all interviews from previous releases.
Kurokami The Animation will be released on Blu-ray Disc in 2024. Unlike the original release, it will include the original Japanese audio as well as the English dub. It is known for being the first simuldubbed television anime and Justin Sevakis’ first Blu-ray Disc with Media OCD and Anime News Network.
Fist of the North Star: Legend of the True Savior – The Legend of Kenshiro will release on Blu-ray Disc in 2024 with Japanese audio, English subtitles, and a new English dub produced by Sound Cadence. It will include trailers, TV commercials, and dub bloopers.
Puss n’ Boots Around the World will release on Blu-ray Disc in 2024 with a new HD transfer, the Turner Television English dub, and new subtitle script.
Futakoi will release on Blu-ray Disc in 2024 with an upscale into high definition. It will include clean opening and ending sequences and a full music video for the opening song.
Chie the Brat, the final television anime series by Isao Takahata before he made Grave of the Fireflies and Only Yesterday, will release on Blu-ray Disc in 2024. It will be the first-ever English release of the 1981 anime and will include the clean ending sequence and a promotional clip.
Rainbow – Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin will release on Blu-ray Disc in 2024 with the Japanese track and English subtitles. It will also feature clean opening and ending sequences.
IGPX will be released on Blu-ray Disc with a new upscale based on newly-located anamorphic masters. The release will include both the Production I.G and Toonami versions in a five-disc release. Additional extras are yet to be determined.
Overall, Discotek Media has a lot of exciting releases planned for the future, with a variety of anime series, films, and specials coming to Blu-ray Disc with English dubs and subtitles.
