Discotek Media made several announcements at its panel at Otakon. They revealed new licenses and new releases for previously released works. One of the licenses is for the anime series Overman King Gainer, which will be released on Blu-ray Disc. The release will include an upscale to HD by Sunrise, 2.0 and 5.1 Japanese audio, an English dub, and additional bonus content.
Another license announced is for Lupin III: Seven Days Rhapsody, a Lupin III special. This will be the first official English translation of the anime. The release will include Japanese audio and English subtitles, as well as liner notes and commercial spots.
Discotek will also release the live-action film Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters on Blu-ray Disc. This will be the first release of the film on Blu-ray anywhere in the world. The release will include extensive bonus features such as making-of documentaries and liner notes.
Lady Georgie, a shōjo anime series that has never been released in the US before, will also be released on SD Blu-ray Disc. The release will include all 45 episodes with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
Digimon Adventure 02 will also receive a Blu-ray release. The English-dub version will be released first, followed by the Japanese version. The release will include an Astro Res upscale and extras such as art galleries.
Discotek will also release Cybersix, a Japanese-Canadian co-production, on Blu-ray Disc. This will be the first release of the anime on Blu-ray Disc. The release will include an upscaled version of the series and numerous bonus features.
Midnight Eye Goku, an OVA, will receive its first Blu-ray Disc release. The release will include two dubs and extras such as a discussion with the director and a making-of featurette.
Crying Freeman, another OVA, will also be released on Blu-ray Disc. This will be the first Blu-ray release of the anime. The release will include the complete series, uncut, with two different English dubs and various bonus features.
Finally, Discotek announced the release of Chargeman Ken! on Blu-ray Disc. The release will include all 65 episodes with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
